Planning permission is required for most types of building work, generally new builds or works where there are changes to the external fabric of an existing building. Certain types of work can now be carried out without planning permission, such as certain types of loft conversions and residential extensions so long as the works comply with permitted development rules and restrictions. Please contact PCDS if you are unsure if your project requires planning permission and we will be happy to advise you.
If a planning application is required for your project, planning approval from the local authority will be required before any works begin.
At PCDS we offer our clients a full planning service for any sized project ranging from a residential loft conversion to a multi-storey new build. From the initial measured survey through to the formal planning application all of the project will be undertaken by an experienced PCDS team member. Our fee proposals will be in detail with breakdowns for all stages of the works in a clear format. We pride ourselves in being pro-active in achieving planning approval for all of our projects. We have achieved planning permission in the past for refused applications by going through the planning appeal process and we are always enthusiastic to hear from clients in a similar situation who have had planning applications refused.
One of the benefits in choosing PCDS over our competitors is that we can progress any project from the planning stage straight into the Building Regulations stage.
